Shukr شكر means "thanks" (as in daily life "shukran"= "with thanks"). This is a commissioned piece where the word was specifically requested.
As I need to roll and mail it, I used 220g Canson paper, which is the absolute limit of what can be rolled into my mailing tubes without breaking.
With permission, it'd available as a print on
Redbubble. Creation process:
| I was going in circles a long time before the design came. |
| Basic grid |
| Finished pencils |
| Filling in the acrylics. As the client likes texture, I didn't try to tone it down. |
| Macro of the surface revealing a special touch: I mixed gold mica pigments into the paint, so the color has a shimmer to it. |
