Jamal (Beauty)

Jamal جمال means "beauty", and is a commonly used word as well as a first name, but my interest in it in this context is due to the pair it forms with Jalal, "majesty": together they refer to the two aspects of God, feminine and masculine, Divine Beauty and Divine Majesty. (The word Jalal is next in line, as might be expected.)

but decided to go for a diptych instead.

Jamal didn't come easily. My frustration shows here.

Painted in with acrylics into which I mixed some pearl mica again, so there is a shimmer on close-up. I had to redraw the inside lines over the paint before gilding and finishing.
